FINALS!

Well.. its the end of the semester and finals are starting. I only have 3 finals. 2 Monday and one Tuesday. then its home sweet home for the summer. I am very excited to go home! I am a senior so I guess you could say that I have senioritis!

A New Chaper in Life

I got a full time job back at home at our local television station. Which is pretty sweet since I wanted to have a career in television or radio. My title is Evening Technical Director. Basically what I will be doing is recording shows and making sure that they get on the air. Its an evening job, Monday - Thursday 4:30 - midnight and Friday's 4:30 - 2:30am.
I still have a semester of school left. I am going to take some classes online through Muskingum over the summer then take classes at a college at home and have them transferred.

Easter Break

Easter break was a lot of fun. I am an old school Catholic so I went to church like 3 days in a row. Which was probably good for me because I don't go while I am at school. I did a lot of sleeping. On Easter my sister and her fiance came over. That was a lot of fun. We played wii and we had a really good brunch that my mom prepared.

A Though Descision

I have come to a time in my life where I need to make a big decision.
Over last summer I interned with a radio station back home. Just recently a job opened up at their television station that my supervisor told me to apply for if I was interested. I did apply and got a phone call from them on my way home for Easter break last week. I went in the next day to talk to them and it all sounded really good for me. They are suppose to get back with me the beginning of this week.
I still have a semester of school left so my plan was to take the job if they offer it to me and finish at the branch at home and take some online classes through Muskingum over the summer.

My Job at Muskingum's radio station!

I have known what I wanted to do with myself after high school since I was in 7th grade. I always wanted to major in radio/television. I got this idea from my mom who majored in the same thing at Xaiver University.
This was just something that I thought was interesting. When I came to Muskingum I think I was more interested in television. I was wrong I got involved with the radio station right off the bat when I saw them at the Activities Fair.
I got involved my first semester which was Fall of 2007. I took a one credit hour class with Dr. Lisa Marshall who is one awesome professor! Dr. Marshall is also my adviser. The class was a training class to learn how all the equipment works in the studio and also how to be a DJ. The class would be once a week in the evening. We were also assigned a DJ to shadow once a week. Within the first couple of weeks we were able to get on the air. It was a great class!
My first show I had out of training which would have been spring of 2008, I had a morning show with a partner. At the time our air shifts were 3 hours so this shift was from 6am-9am. I AM NOT A MORNING PERSON! but this girl talked me into it. Fall 2008 was my first show by myself and I was nervous.
The 2009-2011 school year I became apart of the Management Team as Traffic Director. Traffic Director is not what it sounds like. I don't direct the traffic at the station. What I did was I would schedule show promos and put PSA's into the system and schedule those to play. I also served as a leader for the rest of the staff. It was a great experience. This year I jumped back on the management team this semester as Underwriting Director. I go out to businesses to try and get giveaways or money in exchange for an underwriting message. Underwriting is sorta like a commercial but not really! WMCO is a non - commercial station therefore we do underwriting instead. Lets say we get a businesses such as Wally's Pizza. We can say their name, where they are located, what they have to offer and a telephone number. We CANNOT say to go there or that its the best. That is a big "no no" for us. We could get slammed by the FCC!

I can say that joining WMCO has been one of the best choices I have made here at Muskingum. It provides excellent skills for the future. Its also a second family to me. We are all so close!

Well... we are almost through spring semester 2011! I AM READY TO BE DONE! I cannot wait for it to be over with! I am a senior and I think I have a severe case of senioritis! The sad part is I still have another semester left before I can graduate. I am very excited for this summer. I have an internship at a local radio station that I will be doing. Also my sister got engaged in February so I will be helping her with the planning. She made me maid of honor. I have a big job I suppose!

First post and summer time so far!

Ok so I have done these before but never seem to keep up with it. I use to back when xanga was popular.

So its summer time right now. I've been home from Muskingum for like 2months. I am so bored. I haven't been up to much since I got home. Mainly sleeping and watching tv. I do work for my dad a couple of days a week at his company which is ok I guess it passes the time. My church has a "young adult" group that meets once a month so I was able to attend the one in June and the one for July was last night.
Thats a very intresting group. We talk about different religious things and it seems like everybody is on the religious side in that group, but I am not so I just don't know if I fit in right now.
As far as plans for the rest of the summer...I plan on continuing to work for my dad for the rest of the summer, possibly a visit to Muskingum on the 19th, Lake Erie with the fam the first in Auguest then back to school!

That is all!
